Week 25 We're not grounded anymore

May 14, 2019

This week we got grounded from our car... so hyped
But it's good we got it back now! (We didn't turn our gas receipts in on time...#beexactlyobedient)

It was such a nice experience though! Walking provides so many more opportunities to talk with people. Which is my favorite thing to do on earth. We met tons of wonderful people and pet lots of dogs.  We were almost humbled for having the privilege of usually having a car.

I am going to the Temple today in St. Louis so I don't have much time at all to type but I want to just share with you all my testimony. (And, Happy Mothers Day!)

I have never been expected to serve a mission. I was not pressured when I was younger to serve a mission. And most definitely never forced to do any form of missionary work. I was however, blessed with the most loving mother I could ever have asked for and a father whose example has immensely had an impact on the decisions I make today. They raised me with love, care, and support and never doubted me. They allowed me to exercise my free agency and when needed...showed me what consequences come when I misuse that agency. I have been able to grow an understanding and love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ because of the environment they helped raise me in. I am forever thankful for them and their loving example, for full of love Is exactly how the Savior taught. I am out here for the simple reason that I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that Jesus Christ took upon himself the sins and pains of each of us children and that THROUGH Him we can be forgiven, made clean again, feel the love of our Heavenly Father and ultimately return to him. I know that Jesus Christ has His church on the Earth today and that we can all find the truth of His gospel for ourselves as we read the scriptures and pray for answers to questions we have. I know Heavenly Father loves us. He lives. He hears our prayers and He has His arms extended out always, we need to do our part. I know that the only true joy we can receive in this world is the joy that comes, as we turn outward, away from ourselves and focus on others. Focus on Jesus Christ. I know that the times we feel He isn't there are the times we aren't listening. He is always there, we need to do our part in being willing and ready to receive His guidance. I'm so excited to go to the temple and feel the peace and love that is ways present there.

I hope y'all have the most amazing week. Smile big I can feel your smiles from here I promise. Love you all!!

Week 24 The Gospel Blesses Familes

May 6, 2019

Heyyyyy!! Weeks really do just go by faster and faster out here!
This week was just so awwwwww !!! I LOVE MISSIONS

So I have learned more out here than ever that the Gospel blesses families. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is so SIMPLE. It may not and will not be EASY, but always will be and always has been SIMPLE. We are taught to have FAITH, REPENT, BE BAPTIZED, RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST & ENDURE TO THE END. That's it! 5 SIMPLE principles the Lord taught by example and expects we'll follow in Faith.

It's almost a daily occurrence that we will knock on someone's door and we meet someone that is having a rough home life and unstable situation. Now we aren't superheroes that can magically fix their life trials. What would that teach them anyways? We as missionaries simply offer the knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by inviting people to follow the example of Jesus Christ.

I have truly taken for granted I think every day of my life the true privilege it is to have the Gospel in my life. To be a missionary is even more special in my life. To have the opportunity each and every minute of each and every day to share the Gospel is the greatest blessing anyone could desire.

As the individuals we meet with listen to the messages we share and accept the invitations we extend to them, we literally see their lives become less chaotic, less stressful, more organized. They get relief. They feel loved and then show love. There is no greater feeling than to watch someone you've met feel the love that the Savior Jesus Christ has for them. It is so precious.

Well like usual I'm all over the place with my emails   but crazy tender mercy!! :
I was sitting in sacrament meeting today and in walks Brother Benion!! He was the session director to the EFY that changed my life! Apparently he's in my ward and I haven't connected the dots until today! I got to talk with him after church and we reunited and he remembered me and it was pretty dope   such a small world and everything happens for a reason! One of my life goals has been to be given the opportunity to be a session director at an EFY so it was cool to see him and it gave me hope and motivation to continue doing what I need to to get on that path.

Well hey thanks for reading! I love you! I miss you! I love you again! I'm so thankful for you! I feel like I learn a lot as I write these weekly emails and I wouldn't write them if it weren't for y'all so thank you

If you missed the first email (my mom had my address and info if you want anything ask her )

I INVITE YOU ALL TO SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE WITH ONE PERSON THIS WEEK! Not even gospel related, anything!! Share with someone the things that make you happy!

PEACE OUT!

Week 23 PRAYER LOVE PEACE

April 29, 2019

Holyyyyy goodness time just absolutely flies by out here in the mission field! The weather is pretty bipolar out here it's wild. The locals always say if you don't like the weather in Illinois/Missouri then wait a half hour

I love you all so much and I miss y'all like crazy! Shiloh area is doing so good! I love my companions! The people are so amazing!! Elder McKeon said to me in the car this week, "I think the best part of a mission is the true instant love you gain for the people you meet each day." We talked about it the rest of the car ride. As I began to reflect on the people I've met out here the last 3 weeks and the previous 5 months I spent out here, I realized that I truly did gain such a strong love for so many people! I can knock on a door in a city and on a road I've never seen. As soon as that door opens, it is as if my Father in Heaven allows me to feel all the love that the Savior Jesus Christ has for every individual. I get this overwhelming sense of love and build an immediate desire to want to help those I meet grow closer to Jesus Christ. I want to help them around their home. I want to help them with their yard. I want to sit down with them and bare my testimony that I know without a doubt in my heart and mind that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to share with them how important my relationship with God is.
There is no checklist I'm fulfilling out here. There is no point system. There is no promotion I receive. I do not get paid for being out here....
I sincerely care and love every person I meet. It's unbelievable the love I feel for people I meet out here. I am only catching a glimpse of what our Savior Jesus Christ feels for each of you and every individual on earth  I have found way too much love for My Savior to not share that with others. Jesus Christ himself said come follow me. So we should all for exactly that  there are so many ways to do that, but if you're curious how?!?! Then start with a prayer

Prayer has been such a powerful tool for me out here. I wish I wasn't but it's pretty easy to be homesick out here. It's really easy to hear someone say something that reminds me of my brother. See a dog that reminds me of mine. The mission may be one of the hardest things anyone can do and definitely has been for me. But I am not alone. There are 70,000 other servants of the Lord across the world doing exactly what I'm doing. Everyone will go through their own struggles and tough times even in the mission. Especially in the mission. But we cannot forget that we are never alone. This is why prayer has been so important to me. Prayer is LITERALLY a conversation with YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. How cool is that  it breaks my heart when I meet people that are afraid to pray because they "don't know how" or "don't know what to say". It's a conversation. If you don't want to ask for anything... then don't ask Him anything. If you don't want to pray for blessings... then don't. There's no script. There's no pattern. This isn't doctrine but I'm going to go ahead and say that nothing is or should be more personal than the relationship you have with your Heavenly Father. He loves you. He loves you so much. He knows you. He knows what hard things you're going through. He knows what blessings you need. He's just waiting for you to reach out to Him and trust in Him. Pray for everything. Pray for anything. Pray anywhere. Pray anytime. I'm sure you'd want to hear from your children of you knew they were going through a rough time, especially if you have billions of children  haha

Sorry that I went all over the place, love to prayer, trials but I hope you were able to get something out of it  if not then hopefully you are having a great day and continue to have one!

I KNOW, not kinda a little bit. I absolutely KNOW that Jesus Christ lives. We have a loving Father in Heaven. They care about each of us and have a love greater for us than we could ever comprehend. Our relationship with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ will grow as we turn to Them in prayer often. As we seek for Their Hand in our lives. If you ever tell yourself that you are praying and not receiving answers, then you're not looking. The times we feel God is not listening are the times we need to start looking. He is always reaching His hand out. We need to grab ahold. I love this Gospel. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is THE reason I'm out here. And it all starts with Faith. I am so grateful for each of you on this list and for every human that reads this

HAVE AN AMAZING DAY! And if someone asks how you're doing, my Grammy who’s my best friend, always says, "Terrific why not!" And she's exactly right. There's no reason to not be terrific

LOVE YOU!!!!
